WEDNESDAY NIGHT 26 MARCH 25 BIBLE CLASS
The Israelites’ failure in faith is rooted in a repeated pattern of spiritual amnesia and rebellion. Despite witnessing:
- The plagues in Egypt,
- The parting of the Red Sea,
- Manna from heaven,
- Water from a rock, and
- God’s visible presence in the cloud and fire,
they still doubted His ability to bring them into the Promised Land. Fear of giants and fortified cities (Numbers 13:28,33) overshadowed trust in God’s proven power. Their fear distorted their memory, causing them to long for Egypt and even propose appointing a new leader to return there (14:4). This wasn’t a one-time doubt but the climax of ongoing rebellion.
