WOMEN’S DAY – RAHAB CLOUD OF WITNESSES
Rahab is a prominent figure in the Bible, known for her role during the Israelite conquest of Jericho as detailed in Joshua 2. A Canaanite woman residing in Jericho, Rahab is identified as a prostitute who provided shelter to two Israelite spies sent by Joshua to assess the city’s fortifications. When the king of Jericho sought to capture the spies, Rahab hid them under flax on her roof and misled the king’s men, stating that the spies had already left the city. She then assisted the spies in escaping by lowering them through her window using a scarlet cord, which also served as the agreed-upon sign to ensure her household’s safety during the impending attack on Jericho.
